What Would Make Today a Good Day?
What would make today a good day?
How are you spending your time?
You have limited time. Limited time each day. There is only so much you can do. And in our current culture, there are so many things that compete for your attention - work, kids, spouse, TV, phone, texts, email, internet. The list goes on and on. So, how do you spend your time?
I've been thinking about the question "What Would Make Today a Good Day?" recently. With all the choices I have for what I might do, at the end of the day what would make me feel good/proud/happy for how I spent my time? I've decided I should be more purposeful about my choices, that my choices should support making today a good day. Here's a list I'm working from:
- Feed my mind
- Strengthen my body
- Connect with family
- Connect with God
- Help someone
At the end of the day, things that made today a good day for me tend to fall into one of these categories. And on the best days I might hit 4 or 5 of the categories. I've been trying to use this list to help with decisions. If something doesn't help fit into one of these areas, should I spend my time doing it? Relaxing in the family room with my wife? Good. Watching TV by myself? Nope. Watching TV with my family? Maybe, depends on circumstance.
